When Rykodisc was creating a box set of legendary comedian Bill Hicks’ work, they chose to package it with a custom square Dropcard instead of a traditional CD. On this Essential Collection box set, the comedy of Hicks’ lives on via this compilation of bits and sketches culled from across the comedic great's career. The Dropcard featured bonus downloadable material, including some of Hicks’ own music. Fans were able to redeem the digital version of the recording as well as have the option to join the mailing list for updates and news from a custom landing page. Great for collectible campaigns, Dropcard worked well in this instance, as fans not only got great digital material but a fine piece to add to their collections.
