Cheezy and the Crackers

Starting in 2005 with Cheezy Mcnasty (vocals/guitar) and Randy Richardson "ex-Turnstyles front man"(guitar/vocals) Cheezy and the Crackers began performing local bars and clubs in their south jersey homeland. Playing a mix of originals and covers by bands like Sublime, 311, Bob Marley, ub-40 and Matisyahu. They soon became the "go to" band when there was a party going on, whether it was at a bar or in a backyard.
In 2006 Cheezy and Randy had enough original material for a full length demo called "Put this in your Pipe and smoke it". This cd was released locally in early '07 and over that year 650 copies were sold at shows in southern New Jersey and Philadelphia.
The fall of 2007 brought some change for the band. Due to creative differences the band lost their bass player and drummer. Soon after though, Cheezy and Randy teamed up with Tom "Tbird" Parker "ex-Don't Look Down" (drummer) and Albert Trionfo (bass/vocals). As a team, they started writing new songs immediately like they had been playing together for years.  "Something just clicked with us the very first time we played together."(Tbird).  By the time their third practice came around they started to record rough demos and book shows playing everywhere they could.  All ages venues, bars, benefit shows, barbecues, and colleges all over New Jersey in Philadelphia and New York City. Adding Mike Sarkady aka DJ Barely Sober in the summer of '08 the band was finally complete.
Powerful vocals, thought provoking lyrics, dancing guitar rhythms, and  a drum and bass combo that will have the girls shaking their behinds one minute and the guys starting a circle pit the next, combined with playing  everywhere all the time and continually rocking out wherever they went whether there was 100 or 13 people in the room, paid off. Landing them shows at places like Grape Street and Doc Watsons in Philly and playing second support for a sold out show with  Badfish "Sublime Tribute"  at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park,NJ.  "The Badfish show was amazing...there were people packed in that  room that never seen us before singing along to our songs by the time the second chorus came around!! It was the best show i've ever played."(Albert)
In the fall of  2008 they decided to record some demos in their basement on a digital 8 track recorder to give out to people for promo purposes and get their name out called" Burn this for your friends". Burning every  one of the 4 song discs themselves on their home computers they managed to distribute 900 copies at shows, malls, and high schools between December '08 and February '09. Gaining almost 3000 more fans on myspace in the process.
With so much positive feedback from the demos, they chose to  save money to record, promote, and release an e.p. on their own. They didn't have 8 hours logged in the studio when that e.p. turned into a full length album.  "We used  less than half the time that was allowed for the drum tracks! Wanna record 6 more with the rest of the time?" (Kevin Hogan-studio engineer)  So they did and now have their Debut full Length "Don't talk about it...be about it!!!"in the works. A 12 song l.p. with a mix of punk rock, reggae, and rap influenced tunes guaranteed to blow speakers and minds, due out in the Summer of '09 followed hopefully by a fall tour.
